Tracy Morgan Hospitalized at Sundance Due to Exhaustion

A celebratory occasion quickly turned serious for comedian Tracy Morgan, who was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at Creative Coalition’s 2012 Spotlight Initiative Gala Awards Dinner during the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday night (January 22).

The “30 Rock” star – who was among the event’s honorees – was escorted outside after giving his speech before falling to the ground in an unconscious state.

Morgan was then taken by ambulance to the Park City Medical Center, after which a hospital spokesperson told TMZ that neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor – which was initially implied by numerous reports.

Explaining the circumstances, Tracy’s rep, Lewis Kay, released a statement reading, “From a combination of exhaustion and altitude, Tracy is seeking medical attention. He is with his fiance and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care. Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false.”
